On Friday we will be hosting our 5th Annual Bike Rodeo and pedestrian education sponsored by Safe Routes to School. 2nd graders get to go on a neighborhood walk to learn pedestrian safety. 1st graders and 3rd graders will participate in classroom lessons on bike and pedestrian safety. And, our 4th and 5th graders will be part of the highly anticipated Bike Rodeo on the blacktop (Reminder- bring bikes and helmets, scooters okay too)! I am so grateful for our county Safe Routes program and especially our parent volunteer team’s energetic leadership in this effort: Tom Nofziger, Greg Ulin, and Rob Morton.
Remember- every Wednesday is Walk and Roll Wednesday. Visit the table in the courtyard each week! There will be another raffle this week! Live far away? Park and Walk! You can park in the neighborhood and walk 3-4 blocks. This still counts as a green route to school. See map here for ideas.
Drive Safely! As we encourage students to bike and walk, it is essential that drivers exercise extra caution in the neighborhood and drop-off loop. Please do not speed, park in crosswalks, double park in the drop-off circle, leave your car unattended or park in a red zone. Please pass this information on to caregivers too. Let’s keep our kids safe!
