“No one who achieves success does so without the help of others. The wise and confident acknowledge this help with gratitude.” – Alfred North Whitehead
As we head into Thanksgiving, it is important to slow down and give thanks to those who touch our lives every day. Specifically, I want to express my sincere gratitude for our inspirational staff and teachers and the passion they bring when working with our students every day. I also feel tremendous gratitude for all of our engaged parents who step up to help our school community through their time and resources. What a special community we have! We couldn’t do it without each of you!
Sincerely,
Michelle Walker, Principal
An overview from our Counselor, Scarlett Headley
As you know, Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is a critical part of our curriculum and one of our four Guiding Principles at the Cove School. We firmly believe that a strong social-emotional foundation is necessary for school success, academic achievement, positive social relationships, and the development of emotional competence.
The Cove School counseling program has multiple components to build SEL skills in order to help your child succeed in school. Students, parents and teachers alike benefit from this rich programming. Students receive developmentally appropriate lessons in programs for their specific age group and gender. Teachers gain tools from observing counselor lessons as well as receive resources from our counselors to help them build confidence in addressing student needs as they arise. Finally, parents benefit from parent education programs provided by PTO and tools and resources that our counselor provides to families for a variety of needs.
Please take a moment to read a detailed description of our comprehensiveSocial Emotional Learning program at Cove.
