Cove Celebrates a Spirit of Giving!
Captions (Clockwise from top left): SPARK #GivingTuesday was a huge success with 54% percent participation- Thank you! Happy Hanukkah! Students shop at the Holiday Store 2017.
A spirit of giving is in the air! Cove Holiday Store returns this Friday, December 7th. Prepare to be delighted by the gifts chosen by your children from the new and gently-used “inventory” donated by the Cove community as we transform the Gallery into a “Holiday Store”. Students love shopping for important people in their lives at this special annual event. This opportunity instills a spirit of giving in our children. Students bring in $2 and get to shop for 2 gifts. (Students and families may continue to shop the Holiday Store for more gifts after school in Gallery.) Our awesome volunteers wrap the gifts and the students bring them home to you!
We need your help to make this happen!
DONATE by Thursday December 6th; Bring items to Gallery! Treasures in high demand include: costume jewelry and women’s accessories, hobby supplies, holiday-themed decor, housewares, cookbooks, DVDs, and anything for men! We cannot take used clothing without tags, dirty or broken items, toys, or stuffed animals.
VOLUNTEER for store set-up on Thursday 12/6 and for shopping assistance and gift wrapping on Friday, December 7th. Please sign up here.
Send $2.00 with your child on the day of event. (Any proceeds support PTO programs at Cove!)
Happy Hanukkah to all those who celebrate!
Sincerely,
Michelle Walker, Principal
Hot Lunch Update - ORDER lunch for December Now It is important to order your student’s lunches online ahead of time. The lunch provider only has a limited number of emergency (extra) lunches available on any given day. There are many times during the month the emergency lunches are gone before the end of lunch service, this is due to so many families NOT ordering lunch online ahead of time at www.thelunchmaster.com
LCMSD new process for emergency lunches: Any student needing an emergency lunch will now go to the school office and be offered a non-sugary light snack, they will also be allowed to call a parent to bring them a lunch. An invoice will be sent to you at the end of the month for all the emergency snacks your child has received at the cost of $3 per snack served. Please see our website for more information on Hot Lunch
Coffee with Superintendent Dr. Geithman Please join Superintendent Brett Geithman for an overview of Readers Workshop, our recent adoption for English Language Arts. Brett will provide an overview of this authentic and research-based approach to teaching literacy followed by questions/answers parents might have. We hope to see you there! Tuesday, December 4th, 8:15am-9:15am, Cove Library
Questions about Lice? Please click here to read an important message regarding lice detection and management. Thank you for your support!
In support of the Holiday Store, the Hot Cocoa + Game Night has been moved to Thursday, January 17th. We look forward to seeing you then!
