Have you ever been to a Maker Fair? Imagine one at your child’s very own school! Our famous Tinker Day is just around the corner...less than a week away!
Wednesday, March 27th from 9:30am-11:30am our school transforms into a Tinker/Maker Fair for 2nd-5th grade students. K-1st grade students will be tinkering in their classrooms.
We need your help! Here’s what you can do:
Volunteer by completing this form here. Lots of helping hands needed! This is separate from volunteering at your child’s classroom station (teachers are requesting those volunteers separately).
Collect useable treasures for our general tinkering area. Please send a bag of items (clean recycling, tubes, any crafty items) to school with your child on Wednesday. They should leave these items on the painted earth in the center of the courtyard on Wednesday morning.
Contact Diana Nay (dnay@lcmschools.org) if you have items you can donatesuch as fabric, masking tape, glue guns, or anything else that might be used for tinkering! We need the following items: socks for puppets, t-shirts for stamping(you can send your child with a light colored shirt they can stamp on), fabrics, old electronics or items that kids can disassemble, cardboard boxes.
This event takes a village. The kids will forever remember Tinker/Maker Day. Please help make it happen! This event is made possible through your SPARK donations. THANK YOU!
Sincerely,
Michelle Walker, Principal
Amanda Estes, Teacher Tinker Day Coordinator
Chris Slowe, Parent Tinker Day Coordinator
Cove Open House Please join us for this special event on Thursday, April 4, 6:00-7:30pm. Classrooms are open 6:00-7:15pm, and then the 5th-grade band will perform at 7:15pm in the Gallery for anyone who wants to join! The purpose of Open House is to give you a deeper look into what your children have been learning and how they have been learning it. Your children will guide you through their classrooms, sharing about their learning.
1:15pm Early Dismissal on Friday, April 5th!
