International Walk and Roll To School Day is This Wednesday And...It’s the Final Day of The Green Sneaker Challenge! Our Goal: NO cars in the loop on Wednesday
The Cove School is joining millions worldwide for the International Walk and Roll to School Day! Our Safe Routes to School team has organized ways for everyone to participate- whether you live close or far!
Bike, Scoot or Walk from the neighborhood.
Bike train from Larkspur- meet Mrs. Walker and Safe Routes Parent volunteer Greg Ulin for the bike train at the Tamal Vista Blvd & Wornum Drive intersection at 7:35am.
Park and Walk! You can park in the neighborhood and walk a couple of blocks. This still counts as a green route to school. See map here for ideas.
Try the bus!
Our 5th graders will be leaving for Outdoor Science Education on Wednesday so they will have extra items. Perhaps you could send those items in a “luggage” carpool with another family!
Our table will be out in the courtyard and we hope to see you all walking, rolling, scootering, cartwheeling, carpooling...Any green way! Children who travel a "green way" to school get stamps on their cards for the big raffle! Any number of stamps qualifies you for a small prize, or fill out your whole card and enter the raffle to win a new scooter or some of our other Safe Routes prizes.
Let's fill up the sidewalks and bike racks as much as possible this school year. Thank you for teaching your child the importance of green travel --- it's a lifelong lesson!
The Cove Site Council is pleased to welcome new parent member Jessica Donehower. You can read her bio here. She brings an excellent skill set and energy to our council. We have our first meeting this Thursday in the conference room and anyone is welcome to join us as a member of the public!
On Wednesday, Oct 9, there is no school. This is a workday for teachers. They will be busy preparing meaningful curriculum for your children!
