Safety First- The Great Shakeout Drill
On Thursday, October 17th, our entire school participated in The Great Shakeout disaster drill along with several other schools and districts in the US and internationally. The Great Shakeout site has great material for your own family to prepare in the case of a major disaster or emergency. Please take a moment to read this important information about our school’s disaster preparation and response.
Assembly on Earthquake Preparedness (Slides 12-18)
Here are the videos we watched in the assembly:
In case of a disaster, our staff will divide into several teams: Search and Rescue, Security, First Aid, Student Supervision, Psychological Aid, Student Release, and Shelter/Food/Sanitation. Staff had a chance to practice the protocols for these roles during our recent drill.
Remember to list emergency contacts for your child in case you cannot pick them up in case of emergency. The people listed in our system are the only ones we can release your child to!
Thank you for your help in preparing to keep our students safe in case of emergency.
Sincerely,
Michelle Walker, Principal
