Halloween at The Cove School
Halloween is another day of learning at Cove. We are looking forward to a fun and safe celebration on Thursday, October 31st.
Here are details about what is and is not allowed at Cove on Halloween: I encourage you to modify the costume for school as necessary in order to set your child up for success:
All students in grades K- 5 may wear costumes.
Costumes cannot interfere with learning.
No blood/ gore, weapons
No face paint, masks from home
No props/accessories; Please don’t send any essential items that might get lost or broken.
Your child must be able to use the restroom independently in his/her costume.
Costumes must be age-appropriate for K-5 and respectful of different cultures.
Kindergarten Parade: At 1:25pm on Halloween, we will have a parade of our kindergartners. It lasts about 10 minutes. Kindergarteners will get to parade around the courtyard and gallery with their costumes and/or hand made masks while the rest of the school watches and cheers for them. Parents are invited to watch!
Important Notes for Parents on Halloween:
Lunch ends at 1:15pm and parents need to stay off the playground and courtyard area until lunch ends.
You do not need to sign into the office if you are only coming for the parade. If you are going to a classroom after the parade, please do sign in.
SPARK Giving Day Participation Challenge 60% by November 19th Excellent schools need everyone’s support and Annual Giving is the most efficient and cost-effective way to help our schools. Make your Annual Giving Donation or Pledge on or before November 19th to be counted! We are counting on every family to participate. We are at 25% participation and need 353 more families to donate or pledge. When we reach our participation goal, we all win! Free Shakes from Shake Shack for every student if we reach our November 19th participation goal! The grade level with the highest participation gets a sweet treat from Re:THINK ice cream.
Dads Movie Night Friday November 8th Join fellow dads for a classic comedy, dinner, drinks, games and prize giveaways at 7:30 pm at the American Legion Hall in Larkspur. This is a parent hosted sign-up party and you can purchase tickets here.
No dogs are allowed on campus. Even in the loop- even on a leash. Please respect our school policy. They scare some children, and we have had complaints.
Keep the Loop Open: Safety is our top priority! It is imperative that we address a major safety issue with the loop during drop off and pick up. In order to keep the loop open for parents, we need all caregivers to follow these safety rules between 7:30am and 3:30pm daily:
Do not park in the loop and leave your car unattended.
Only park in the 3 visitor spaces - if those are occupied do not park in a reserved space.
Remain in your car when dropping off your child in the loop
Keep the flow of traffic moving and make space for the bus when it arrives.
We have started ticketing cars in violation and will document license plates of repeat offenders as needed. We want to keep the loop open for drop off and pick up. In order to do so, all must abide by these rules. We appreciate your cooperation to ensure the safety of our students.
