PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Please Donate Canned Goods by Tuesday! Two third-graders initiated a food drive to help people who are homeless. They presented to the school at Thursday’s assembly. Check out their Assembly Presentation! Barrels are available for food donations now through Tuesday, December 17th. They will be picked up on Dec 18. The goal is to collect 400 lbs of food- we are halfway there! Please, no glass containers. The barrels are located in the gallery just inside the front doors.

The spirit of celebration and philanthropy is alive at Cove! The holiday season is in full swing! Families celebrate different holidays, and some aren’t celebrating any holidays this time of year. As we navigate the next week which is full of excitement, energy, and a range of emotions, let's work as a team to set our children up for success. Please remember the importance of rest, nutrition and routine.

This busy time also presents an opportunity to practice the mindfulness and regulation techniques our children are learning in school. They work well for adults and children alike!

Holiday Store Team - Thank you! We couldn’t have done it without you! Your item donations, volunteering to help the children shop, wrap, and organize helped us carry on this beloved tradition! Special thanks to Belinda O’Neil and Angelique Kaufman.

Summary of Math Coffee Talk On Friday in Principal Walker’s Coffee Chat, we explored the ways students learn math, strategies you may see them using, and how you can support them at home. Did you miss it? Here is the Principal Coffee Chat- Let’s Talk Math! Presentation.

Our Last Walk and Roll for 2019 - Wednesday, December 18th! If it's not raining, we will be giving out swag and filling out raffle tickets at our table in the courtyard. We hope to see you all walking, rolling, scootering, cartwheeling...anything other than driving into the parking lot if at all possible!

PTO UPDATES

Registration for the Cove’s 2020 Variety show will begin on Wednesday, January 8th and end on Friday, January 10th. Cove students interested in participating must register during this time. For more information about the variety show, click here. Questions? Email varietyshow@covepto.org.

SPARK Art Show Art registration is open now through January 20th for the SPARK Art Show February 7-12. The show will feature local and emerging professional artists and showcasing LCMSD student art! Volunteers Needed for Spring Online Auction The online auction runs March 11-17 and includes hundreds of items to bid on. Last year the online auction raised over $120K for our schools! If you’d like to join our solicitations team, let us know! info@SPARKschools.org

2019 Year-End Donation Deadlines In order for you to qualify for a tax deduction in 2019, please make note of the following deadlines for your SPARK Annual Giving donation:

Checks: must be postmarked no later than December 31, 2019
Credit Card payments: must be made before 9:00pm PST, December 31, 2019
Gift of Stock: recommendation that they are initiated by December 24, 2019
