News from Cove School Garden
What makes our Cove Garden grow? Lots of water and attention from students, teachers and our Garden lead, Florencia Frankenberg! Drawing on our mission, The Cove Garden is a vibrant place for experiential learning. Cove Students enjoy exploring this outdoor laboratory where they experience the power of observation, learn about life cycles, and enjoy the fruits of their labor. Our garden is full of hands-on learning!
Opportunities for our students in the garden include: classroom planting trugs and open garden time with individual classes; harvesting to create healthful and delicious salads; and beginning this spring- our Lunchtime Garden Club! Starting next Wednesday, March 11th, and meeting once a week, interested students may bring their lunch to the garden to talk about all things planting, harvesting and growing!
Our Cove Garden will be hosting a delicious bake sale this Wednesday, March 4th directly following school to support their efforts!
Sincerely,
Michelle Walker, Principal

Walk & Roll Wednesdays will continue on Wednesday, March 4th with some more brand new swag! Let’s fill those bike racks and do our best to arrive at school any green way we can. Even parking and walking a few blocks is a great way to start the day with your kids. Students are more alert for learning after getting their giggles out by walking or biking to school!

Annual Giving Update We’re more than halfway through the school year but have not yet reached our year-end fundraising goal of $1.4M. Thank you to the families who have donated so far - we still have over 288 families who have not made their 2019-2020 Annual Giving donation to date. Remember, money raised this year funds programs in the same school year for our three schools. We appreciate donations of any amount so we can hit the numbers we need to fund the programs our students love. See our updated donor list here. Make your donation here.
Spring Online Auction is March 11-17 The auction will open at 12pm on Wednesday, March 11th and close at 9pm on Tuesday, March 17th. We will have hundreds of items to bid on: from kids camps and activities, dining, sports and entertainment, beauty, health and fitness and of course, the much-loved parent-hosted and teacher and staff-hosted parties! Sign up parties are first-come, first-serve so don’t miss out! Last year this event raised more than $100K for our schools! We encourage everyone to bid high and bid often - it’s for the kids!
