March 16 - No School - Professional Development Day for Teachers
March 17- SPARK Auction Closes
March 17-March 27- School Closure; Remote Learning
Structure in Uncertain Times We are living in unprecedented times, and adults and children alike are feeling the anxiety and uncertainty of what’s to come with the coronavirus pandemic. But one thing is certain: even though Cove’s buildings are closed, student learning will continue.
Over the past week, Cove’s staff has been providing students a sense of normalcy while also, behind the scenes, beginning to lay the foundations for virtual/remote school. Tomorrow’s staff professional development day is entirely dedicated to teachers creating online lessons, take-home materials, video tutorials, etc. - all in the spirit of continuing to provide every student a great education.
How to support learning at home Please review this document with your child/ren to create a successful home environment for learning. Please help your child set up a consistent “classroom space” in your home. One key point to stress at home: every student is accountable for all work assigned.
We will miss seeing our students every day - hearing their voices, seeing them at play, supporting and guiding them through the daily ups and downs. All of us have a lot of adjusting to do - along with making sure we're staying safe and healthy. It will not be easy on any of us - but we draw strength and confidence knowing that we do so in partnership with you.
By the end of the day tomorrow, you will receive a more specific communication with details for the beginning of our virtual/remote learning on Tuesday. Daily updates will be emailed to all families by 6:00 pm.
Sincerely,
Michelle Walker, Principal

Online Auction is in full swing Packed with a variety of items for the home, dining and travel opportunities as well as kids, camps activities and family fun, there’s something for everyone! You can view the online catalog here. Last year this event raised more than $100K for our schools and we rely on this revenue to help us reach our year-end fundraising goal. Here is some helpful info about the online auction and what to expect:
Register: You must set up an account with Ready, Set Auction before you can bid on any items
Sign Up Parties Sell Out Quickly: These parent-hosted events range from hiking, yoga and biking to cooking, painting and cocktailing. Parents volunteer to plan and pay for parties and your ticket price raises money for SPARK. Spots for parties are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and they are set at a fixed price.
Teacher, Staff & School Events: These are also very popular year after year, so don’t wait to bid on them! These teacher and staff-hosted events include lunch or breakfast with the Principal or Secretaries, grade-level activities hosted by teachers and more. Most of these items are fixed price, but a few can be bid on. The teacher grade-level parties have very limited availability. Please know that you are only permitted to purchase a spot with your child’s teacher.
Auction closes March 17 at 9pm. Bid early, bid high, bid often! It’s for the kids!
We share concerns about the spread of COVID-19 commonly called the novel coronavirus in our school community and beyond and are aware of the recent statement issued on On March 9, 2020, by the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recommending the cancellation or postponement of nonessential indoor gatherings of more than 100 people over the next 2 weeks. We will continue to monitor this situation and in the event any upcoming events are canceled, or it is necessary to cancel or postpone any sign up parties, we will offer refunds to those who request them.
