Staff Appreciation Week Starts Tomorrow! This week, let’s all celebrate our amazing teachers and staff remotely! Our PTO team has put together some fun ways to show our appreciation. Additionally, I encourage families to express their appreciation in whatever way they see fit.
Monday, May 4: PTO will decorate the school entrance with a banner for any teachers who come to campus on Monday (since Mondays are the day that teachers are allowed to access their classrooms for materials). This banner will remind our community about this special week and serve as a public symbol of our appreciation.
Tuesday, May 5: Flood them with emails of appreciation! Please send your teacher and other special staff members who make our school so special (special area teachers, custodians, campus support, paras, library clerks, secretaries, health liaisons, special ed service providers, etc!) a sweet video or email note of you thanking them for being so smart, generous, kind, special, etc. This Cove staff list has emails for each of our 50 staff members!
Wednesday, May 6: PTO will be sending a restaurant delivery gift card to every teacher. Since we cannot host our annual appreciation luncheon this year, we are sending a take-out treat to say thank you!
Thursday, May 7: Let your appreciation shine! Your class may show your appreciation in whatever way works best for you. Get creative!
Friday, May 8: Appreciation assembly- We will watch the slideshow of your children’s smiling faces with their signs of appreciation. Did you upload your photo yet? If you missed the Saturday deadline, you can still add a photo of your family with a poster here by 8pm today (Sunday). Remember to include your teacher and add names of other teachers, specialists, paraprofessionals etc. Here is a complete list of teachers and staff. Our goal is to have one from every Cove family!
The PTO is truly grateful for our parents who are working so hard and going the extra mile during these times. Thank you for all you are doing and thank you for taking the time to appreciate our staff this week!
Attendance in Virtual Classes- Just as in regular school, our expectation is that your child attends virtual class sessions. If there is a reason your child cannot attend, please communicate that to your teacher, ideally in advance. In some cases, the teacher tells students and parents a meeting is optional (such as office hours). Thank you for teaming with us to ensure your child is accessing virtual learning!
Sincerely,
Michelle Walker, Principal
