Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year! School starts (virtually) on Wednesday morning, August 19. This year will definitely be one to remember! We are committed to providing meaningful and engaging learning opportunities for your children, as well as clear and timely communication.
LCM COVID Response Website: Please be sure to check out our LCMSD COVID-19 Response Plan Website. This is located at the top of the District website in the header. This is the one-stop-shop for all communication and information.
Teacher Assignments and Class Schedules: You will receive a welcome email from your child’s classroom teacher on Monday, August 17, by 4:00 p.m. Please email me, mwalker@lcmschools.org if you do not receive this email by 5:00 p.m. on Monday (after checking your junk and spam folder to be sure that it did not arrive!). Please know that we will NOT make class changes. We have spent many hours and lots of energy creating classes with the various competing priorities and considerations during this unique time. The email from the classroom teacher will include the daily/weekly class schedule, a class list with student names and information about the class Back to School Night.
New Family Orientation, August 17, 4:00-4:45pm: This event is for new families. This is a chance to hear about our school’s philosophy, explore our campus, ask questions, and meet the superintendent, principal, teachers as well as PTO, Site Council and SPARK volunteers. We want you to learn about what Cove is all about- pandemic or not! Start connecting with families from our community! This meeting is geared toward adults.

Student Home Learning Kits: Each year we ask families to contribute to school supplies. This enables teachers to order in an eco-friendly, equitable and cost-effective manner (we get excellent teacher discounts). This year, we are making kits contained in durable plastic boxes and adding some art supplies to create Home Learning Kits for each student. While these kits are more expensive this year, SPARK has generously offered to cover the additional costs (sturdy boxes and art supplies!) so we are able to ask for the same suggested amount ($50) from families as we have in the past. You will get a notification/ email from Actionaly to make your supplies contribution in the next day. Huge thank you to SPARK! Classroom teachers will notify parents about the details and logistics for distributing the Student Home Learning Kits. Stay tuned!
I am looking forward to a unique and memorable 2020-2021 school year. No matter what comes our way, we are #CoyoteStrong!
Sincerely,
Michelle Walker, Principal
Home PE Equipment: This is a note from Coach Arroyo sharing suggested Student home P.E. equipment.

Notification of the Back to School Night will come in the August 17 class assignment/welcome letter.

Message from No Limits Day Camp & Child Care Program:
Dear LCMSD Families: Our indoor activities are currently on hold while we’re busy learning and playing outdoors. Our Team has decided that the safest way to offer our services is to continue utilizing the great outdoors. We look forward to offering our services and a variety of our specialized classes again soon. For now, we hope to see you after school for our half-day bike rides!
