PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

It takes an extraordinary team, made up of extraordinary individuals who are willing to go to extraordinary measures and do whatever it takes on behalf of the students and families in our community.

Our LCM leadership team, Cove teachers and Cove staff have worked with tenacity, determination and integrity throughout these challenging months. I feel proud to be part of the Cove team and the Larkspur-Corte Madera School District. We have reopened schools. We did it, and we did it well. We will continue to learn and improve as we face the challenging days, weeks and months ahead. Thank you for trusting us and believing in us. We could not do this without the support of our parents and community.

LCMSD Lunch Any child in the L-CM district may receive a free lunch through December 31st. Please click here to order lunch and for more information.

From the Library When you purchase books from The Book Passage, and mention The Cove we receive a percentage back to purchase books for our library! Return your Books! We are still missing hundreds of books...Books may be returned to the Library Book Drop Fridays from 8am-4pm, in the loop.

COVID Daily Screening Please remember to complete your COVID Daily Screening every day BEFORE going to school. You can find your school’s code here. Click on the QR code to get to your class survey. Please note, you do not need to complete a COVID Daily Screening if your child will not be at school.

Trustee Seat Available on LCMSD Governing Board  Are you interested in working with a high functioning governance team dedicated to serving all students in LCMSD? If so, then we encourage you to learn more about the vacancy on LCMSD’s Board of Trustees. The term for this opening is four years. We thank Sasha Morozoff for his service to the District since June of 2019 through the November 18, 2020 board meeting. Please join us in wishing him the best with family and future endeavors.

• October 8 – October 19 Application Window. The application is attached for reference, (by noon) and a fillable form will be posted on the home page of  www.lcmschools.org on October 8th. Applications may be dropped off at the District Office or emailed to mokeeffe@lcmschools.org by noon on October 19.

• October 26 Board Meeting to interview and appoint a new Trustee. This Special Board Meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. in person.

PTO UPDATES

Thank You Teachers, Staff and Families-- we had an awesome return back to campus. We loved seeing so many of our Coyotes on campus this week!

Cove PTO Board Meeting will be Wednesday, October 14th at 7:00pm via zoom. To join the Board meeting, click here. Please note, we will not be fielding personal questions, blanket complaints, nor opinions regarding cohorts/distance plans.

Annual Giving Brochures Were mailed last week - did you get yours? Learn about how SPARK provides essential funding for 1,500 students District-wide at our three schools.This year’s goal is $1.5M and your financial support is crucial to making this happen. Join us for the 1st ever SPARK Drive in Movie on October 25th Tickets on sale now. Two movies on two screens, so choose your movie, Coco or Ghostbusters. Fun for the whole family! Parking lot opens at 5:30pm, movies start at 7pm, at the overflow parking lot at the Village at Corte Madera. Tickets are $75 per car. Boxed dinners four from Left Bank are available to purchase. Make your Annual Giving donation by October 24th and be entered to win fabulous raffle prizes! More details here.

SPARK Volunteer Opportunity Join the Annual Giving team for family outreach. We will provide you with content and you connect with 10 or more families at our schools. This is an important way to get involved. Email annualgiving@SPARKschools.org if interested

Support Equity in Education for Marin Students Did you know...30% of all K-12 public school students in Marin County qualify for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program? This is a staggering 9,611 of our community’s children! These same children are bearing the brunt of the difficulties associated with COVID-19 and distance learning. In an effort to mitigate those impacts, families can contribute to Marin Community Learning Hubs. These Hubs will provide free, safe, and supervised spaces for the County's most vulnerable kids to have support while distance learning. Please donate to here .
