SPARK- Your Participation Matters!
You might be wondering why SPARK is asking for donations if public education is free. The reason is that LCMSD, like many districts, is community funded and depends on non-profit organizations like SPARK to provide essential funding for educational priorities that are not supported by state and local funds. SPARK funding accounts for 7% of the District's overall operating budget!
Year after year, our wonderful community of families has shown their support for our schools by supporting SPARK. Last year more than 73% of families made donations to the Annual Giving campaign - helping the foundation reach its $1.5M goal. While this year may look a little different, our needs have not changed.
Now more than ever, it is time to come together as a community and support our schools. Your participation is critical. Please join our efforts with your gift to SPARK so our students can continue to receive an excellent and engaging educational experience, not just today, but in the future as well.
Let’s get to our goal!
Sincerely,
Michelle Walker, Principal
Giving Day Participation Challenge is ON! Our current Annual Giving participation rate is at 18%. While our ultimate goal is 100% participation from families, our Giving Day goal is 60%. We need every family who participated last year and every family new to our District to support SPARK this year. Money raised this school year, covers salaries and benefits for this same school year. Make your donation or pledge by November 17th and be entered to win a Peloton bike. Increase your odds - families new to our District who make a donation or returning families with a higher donation than last year will receive two entries in the raffle. When we reach 60% participation by November 17th, every student gets a free shake from Amy's Drive Thru!
SPARK Biz partner Nicolette Shopping Event Thursday November 12th from 11-7pm for trunk shows and raffle, with 10% of purchases to benefit SPARK. Pop by during 4-7pm for bubbles and nibbles.

Día de los Muertos At Friday’s assembly, we learned all about this well-respected Latin American tradition. Thank you to parent volunteers Monica Canas, Jasmin Guzman and Glenda Lugo Medrano for helping to bring this tradition to Cove. With the pictures you submitted, they created a beautiful altar in front of the school. Here is the link to the assembly slide deck which has a 6-minute movie created by Cove parents.
