Dear Cove Families,
I hope all of you enjoyed a safe and happy mid-winter break. We are looking forward to seeing our students tomorrow! Please be sure to contact us directly by emailing the classroom teacher and the office at coveabsentee@lcmschools.org if your child will not be in school tomorrow.
We will resume school in-person tomorrow, February 22nd. If during the break you engaged in “high risk” activities as defined by traveling out of state or gathering indoors, please notify your child’s teacher directly and fill out this form. Your child must quarantine for 10 days after the high risk activity or get tested 5 days after and can return to school on day 8 with a negative COVID test. During this required quarantine time, your child will have access to live streaming.
Live streaming is not available for those who travel on school days. It is only available for mandated quarantine periods after travel. Live stream will continue being offered to students who are on Test or 10 due to symptoms or possible exposure (Test or 10 Decision Tree). Thank you for your continued support and communication that ensures our staff, students and community remain safe and healthy.

Readathon Wrap Up We did it! We raised OVER our goal, raising just over $72,000 and read more minutes than ever before! Thank you!
The Readathon would not have happened without these amazing volunteers: Ann Marie Ligon, Catherine Wold, Christopher & Kristen Slowe, Erin Alvarez, Karen Ruppanner, Kate Kropf, John Glenn, Yvonne Wang.
They worked together to: write Actionaly posts, manage and craft our pledge and Readathon websites, make signs, shuck data, secure an author visit, rally our readers, make our virtual worm, work on swag, buy and organize prizes, dress as our coyote, lead assemblies, coordinate a pizza night, and all the while helped their own children read and raise. Our school thanks you!

English Language Community Committee- Our next meeting is on February 23, 5:00-6:00pm. Join us to learn about English assessments (from Ms. Martinez) and how to support your student at home (from Ms. Franco). You will also get an update on spring schedule plans and our district’s budget.

Thank you to Catherine Wold and Kristen Slowe for making it happen!
