Important Information:
You will receive a class placement email on Monday, August 16 by 3pm with your child’s class assignment and a welcome letter and drop off directions from your child’s teacher.
Masks are required for all children at school
No parents may enter campus past gates. K and 1st grade classes will meet on the blacktop. All 2nd-5th grade students may enter through any gate to meet their teacher by their classroom. We will help guide them the first day! Any adult entering campus must come through the front door, check in at the office and follow current protocols regarding vaccination, COVID testing, etc.
Please allow extra time to park and walk. No parking in the loop or any staff parking spaces. Biking, scootering and walking are encouraged!
Bring a water bottle, snack and lunch (or order LunchMaster school lunches in advance- see details below). No lunch during school for kindergarten until August 30 due to 12:15 dismissal.
If your child’s classroom is nut-restricted, please be sure to help keep all of our students safe and healthy.
Keep all pets at home and please do not tie them to a school fence during school hours, drop off and/or pick up times

The Cove Buys Your Child's School Supplies So You Don’t Have To! Please check your email for a message from Actionaly to be sure that you have paid for your child's supplies this year. We are asking $50 per child. Please contribute as you are able.
Important Parent Meeting: COVID PROTOCOLS Marin County Public Health has revised their COVID school guidance in association with the most recent CDC and CDPH guidelines. We have scheduled two meetings on August 16th to review these updates. If you cannot attend either, we will also record them and post the video and slide deck on our COVID Plan Website. Our goal is to have this website updated by August 16th.
Actionaly: This year, we will use Actionaly as our primary means for communication with families (digital signatures, field trips, invitations to school and classroom events). We recommend that you download the Actionaly app from the App Store. Sign up with your email address used in this email. If you prefer to proceed via email, please also check in your “spam” folder, as it is occasionally blocked by email providers.
From Our District Nurse, Gail Hurwitz
As this new school year begins, I want to wish you and your children a healthy and successful school year. With your partnership, we will again work together to ensure health and safety for your children, our staff and our community.
Please complete this medication authorization form for any medication your child needs to have kept in the health office. This form needs to be signed by you and your child’s pediatrician. If your child requires an epinephrine auto injector for a severe allergy, please also sign and have your child's pediatrician fill out the FARE form (FARE Spanish).
Medication is to be sent in the original container labeled with the name of student, name of prescribing physician, name of medication, and instructions. This form must be completed and included with any medication dispensed. The school will not dispense medication without this completed form. It is the parent’s responsibility to update this form as needed.
Children may not carry their own medications (including over the counter medications) with the exception of emergency medications such as epinephrine auto injectors, asthma inhalers or other urgently needed medications. For these, please make sure the #5 is also completed on the medication form. The form must be on file in the health office. Please deliver medications with medication authorization forms to your site nurse, Liz Delaney.
Here is a resource for families: How to Keep Your Child Safe from the Delta Variant
The health team is here to assist you with any questions or concerns you might have, so please feel free to reach out anytime to your site nurse , Liz Delaney, or to me, Gail Hurwitz, email ghurwitz@lcmschools.org.
LunchMaster School Lunch:
The District has contracted with LunchMaster again this year. Like last year, lunches will continue to be pre-packaged and will be available to all students at no charge (please note you must create an account and place an order). Order lunches for each week by Thursday the week before. Menus are available online for ordering up to four weeks in advance.
IMPORTANT: It is very important to attach your students' correct grade and teacher to your students LunchMaster account. Go to Settings, edit, choose the student and select the correct grade and teacher and SAVE.
New to LunchMaster? New families will need to register an account for each student. For more information, see the District website here.
National School Lunch Program (Free/Reduced Lunch): If you would like to apply for Free/Reduced Lunch status through the National School Lunch (NSL) program, please go to the Larkspur Corte Madera School District Office at 230 Doherty Drive and complete an application. Even if you qualified for Free/Reduced Lunch status last school year, you will still need to complete a new application to see if you qualify for free/reduced lunch this school year. For more information and to apply for free/reduced lunch, please Apply for Free or Reduced Lunches Here.
Help needed! We will be seeking volunteers (and/or looking to hire a parent/community member) to help with lunch distribution. Stay tuned for more info!

Come meet with friends, find out more about our PTO, SPARK, offerings from Corte Madera Parks and Rec and to purchase Cove Spiritwear. Questions? Please email our PTO President, Kristen Slowe at president@covepto.org
Hello, it’s SPARK SPARK is the non-profit fundraising organization that supports programs like music, art, technology, counseling, wellness and more at our three schools for our 1,400 students. We do this through tax-deductible donations from parents, community members and businesses. Without your generous financial support to SPARK, our schools would look much differently and our students would not have access to the depth or programs that they currently have. Help us reach our $1.5M goal this year with your 2021-2022 Annual Giving donation. You can donate online, set up automatic monthly installments, make a gift of stock and take advantage of Corporate Match. Learn more about SPARK here.
Got Volunteers? We have many jobs big and small for parents to help this year. We’re especially looking for SPARK reps. Email info@SPARKschools.org if interested and learn more here.
