We are looking forward to seeing you at school on Thursday evening, September 2! This is an adult-only event. Please walk or bike if you are able and plan extra time to park and walk if you drive!
Your child’s teacher will be talking about the grade level curriculum and instruction, classroom procedures and volunteer opportunities. You will hear from Dr. Geithman, Principal Walker and our parent organization leaders during our whole group session in the Gallery. Teachers will share their presentations so that parents who have children in classes that are presenting at the same time will still get the information.
Schedule:
5:15-5:45 English Learners Families Welcome & Information Session in the Library
5:45-6:25 Grades K-2 Teachers present in classrooms
6:30-6:55 K-5 All in Gallery
7:00-7:40 Grades 3-5* Teachers present in classrooms (*3rd-5th grade parents, the evening will start at 6:30pm in the Gallery.)
Friday, September 3 is early dismissal for all students at 1:15pm.
Lunch Volunteers Thank you to those who have signed up to volunteer for lunch. We now have every other week slots for the weekly positions that weren’t filled yet. Please sign up here to be a lunch volunteer if you can!
School Picture Day is September 9th. Only individual photos will be taken. We do not yet have a date for class photos nor retake photos. Our photo studio Dorian is moving to a paperless system, for more information, click here. Please pre-order your students' photos here.
Passionate about Heart Health? Cove is seeking a volunteer to help lead a 2-week Kids Heart Challenge in October. Please email mwalker@lcmschools.org and covesecretaries@lcmschools.org for more details if you are able to help!

Please remind your student to pick up their ordered lunch, the District is not reimbursed for non picked up lunches. Cove Spirit Wear Due to popular demand, Spirit Wear sales will be held on the first Thursday of the month. Come by this Thursday on the blacktop from 7:45am-8:30am to purchase your Cove swag.

Board Updates
At the August 25, 2021 Board Meeting, newly appointed Trustee, Eric Schmautz, was sworn in by Marin County Superintendent Mary Jane Burke. Congratulations Eric Schmautz! The Board also celebrated the years of service and dedication of former Trustee, Katherine Chan. Thank you Katherine Chan! Additionally, the Board was presented with a COVID-19 Update, reviewed the Civility Board policy, and approved school safety plans and the installation of ionization machines for all HVAC systems. Health and Wellness Committee
The primary purpose of this committee is to collect feedback and evaluate how the lunch program is going, as well as any recommendations for the 2022-23 school year. During this year, we will be submitting an RFP for Food Service Management Company. Please complete this form if you are interested and able to commit to the following meetings (in person) from 3:45-4:45pm on 9/16, 10/7, 12/9, 2/10, 4/21. The composition of the committee will be as follows: 1-2 teachers and/or staff from each site, 1-2 parents from each site, 1 school administrator, 1 Board member, 1 school nurse, CBO, and the Child Nutrition Services Coordinator. We appreciate your interest in providing meals for our students.
