Thank you to our amazing teachers for an inspirational Back to School Night!
Thank you parents for your participation.
Starting this Wednesday, September 8th we will begin a favorite school routine- Cove in Motion! Our school whole-heartedly embraces the idea that exercise and improved cognitive performance go hand in hand. As such, we have decided to dedicate 15 minutes in the morning to exercising as a group!
Cove in Motion will be Tuesday-Thursday each week. On Fridays, we will continue our weekly assemblies on the blacktop.
Important Procedures- Your Help is Essential
Arrive by 8:10am and have your child drop their backpack off outside their classroom (K and 1st have different designated spots) and then meet us on the blacktop by 8:15am sharp!
Early arrivers should head out to the track and WALK around the track. Please do not linger in the Cove Courtyard. Once the track music starts (8:10), playground play ends. Parents, please help by joining us in walking around the track and encouraging the kids around you to walk.
Parent Participation Expectation: If you are on the blacktop during CIM, please join us in the exercise program in the designated parent area. Do not stand in front on the side of the stage area. If you are not going to participate, we ask that you leave the playground.
Arrive on time: Students who arrive after CIM starts will be marked tardy. They will be missing out on very important, fun and beneficial part of their instructional day.
CIM Expectations: Bodies forward, participate/ try, follow the leader.
Thank you to parent volunteers Ian & Kelsey Rodgers rebuilding/painting the stage for us and Kate Kropf for her behind-the-scenes organization to get this up and running! And, thank you to Coach Arroyo for being our fearless CIM coordinator.
Let’s keep moving together!
Sincerely,
Michelle Walker, Principal
And the Cove in Motion Team
School Picture Day is this Thursday, September 9th. Only individual photos will be taken at this time. Please pre-order your students' photos here.
Call for volunteers! Cove has been selected to participate in a Binax COVID antigen testing pilot. Every child will get a test to take home. In order to make this possible, we need help preparing the kits to send home. Volunteers needed to assemble kits Tuesday morning, Sept 7th from 8:30-10:30 in the gallery. Please sign up here to help. If you can't stay the whole time, please still come!
New- Volunteer for a Single Day of Lunch Supervision! Now you can sign up here (Google Sheet: Lunch Volunteer Schedule by Week) for a single day in September or October when your schedule permits. (Note- this Google Sheet replaces the Sign Up Genius. All volunteers who signed up through Sign Up Genius have been transferred to this form.)
Coyotes showed their school spirit at our Cove Swag Sale on Thursday! Remember to wear Cove spirit wear on Fridays!
Back to School Night- Thank you! It was wonderful to see so many of you at Back to School on Thursday Night! I think we can all agree it was great to be inside our children’s classrooms and hear from their teachers. It felt good to be back together! If you have any questions about what the PTO does at the Cove, please email me at president@covepto.org. Sincerely, Kristen Slowe, Cove PTO President.
