Amidst all of the holiday bustle in December, I want to bring a few events to your attention.
The (great) State of the District Event
LCMSD is proud to be hosting a State of the District webinar on Wednesday, December 15 at 5:30 PM (Zoom Link). Please share far and wide as parents and community members are encouraged to attend. We look forward to sharing the great successes of our district and our goals for the future.
LCMSD is committed to inclusionary practices across all schools.
Parent Coffee Chats- Recently we have held coffee chats describing our equity work, specifically looking at race, as well as gender spectrum and LGBTQ+ inclusive practices. Slide decks and recordings for all parent workshops are posted here. Additionally, below are the resources for our recent meetings. We hope you have a moment to take a look and engage in this important content.
Ableism and Neurodiversity Workshop- Dedication to Special Education in collaboration with MCOE is hosting this workshop on December 9 at 6:30 via zoom. Description: Have you heard of the terms ableism and neurodiversity but are unsure of exactly what they mean? In this workshop we will unpack these two terms, what are they? What role do they play in our society- both locally as well as in the media and beyond. By strengthening our understanding of these concepts we can be better informed on how best to create more authentically inclusive schools and communities for all. Click here for more information.
Walk and Roll Winter Wonderland- December 8th Join us at the table under the shade structure on the blacktop (no prizes in the classroom!). There will be fun goodies for anyone who gets to school in a green way!
