Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!
As we enjoy this beautiful long weekend, I wanted to invite you to take a moment to reflect on Dr. King’s legacy. Our teachers are continuously folding in important lessons we learned from Dr. King, not just this week, but all year long. In Friday's assembly, I shared about Martin Luther King. Here is the message that the kids heard:
Martin Luther King wanted equality. He wanted peace for our world. Martin Luther King was a risk-taker, he was courageous---just like we encourage all of our students to be here at Cove. His work started as trying to make the world equal for people with different skin colors. His work then continued on to strive for peace for all kinds of different people. We have learned about how much it helps our world to have people who are all different from each other. And, we still have more learning to do.
Let’s acknowledge and celebrate our differences as we continue the work that Dr. MLK started!
Sincerely,
Michelle Walker, Principal

No Dogs on the Playground Please be sure that your dogs do not come onto the blacktop. They need to remain on leash on the field or outside the front gates/ away from entrances/exits. We have some fearful students and we have been having a problem with dog poop left on the playground and turf- yuck! It’s best if you can leave your dogs home for school drop off and pick up. Thank you for your help!
