Our Goal: NO cars in the loop on Wednesday
At last Friday’s assembly, students heard about our challenge- No cars in the drop off loop on Wednesday, October 12. Can we do it?
Julie Griffiths, our Safe Routes to School volunteer has organized ways for everyone to participate- whether you live close or far!
Live in Larkspur? Meet Mrs. Walker for the bike train at the footbridge behind Redwood (near Andrew’s Camp) at 7:35am.
Live in Corte Madera? Meet Mrs. Walker’s bike train and Safe Routes parent volunteer Julie to bike, scoot or walk from the Cove neighborhood. Meet at 7:50 at the intersection of Spindrift and Seawolf.
Live far away? Park and join us at Spindrift and Seawolf (see above).
Any children who travel in a “green way” to school (including the bus!) will receive a prize at our welcome table under the shade structure on the blacktop!
Our 5th graders will be leaving for Outdoor Science Education on Wednesday so they will have extra items. Perhaps you could send those items in a “luggage” carpool with another family!
We would love to have all Cove coyotes participate! Let's fill up the sidewalks and bike racks as much as possible this school year. Thank you for teaching your child the importance of green travel --- it's a lifelong lesson!
Reminders! Thank you for your cooperation!
Please do not leave your unattended car in the loop.
Please park properly in the Paradise Dr (Cove Park) parking lot.
No dogs on campus or the blacktop.
Please tell care givers and others who pick up your children
A note from LCMSD Nurse and Office Teams: It is crucial that we be able to reach you when your child is ill or injured. Please make sure to answer our calls if you see that someone from LCMSD is trying to reach you or check your messages frequently. We will try twice. If we do not hear back from you within 10-15 minutes, we will begin contacting your emergency contacts. You were prompted to update your emergency contacts in August. Please make sure someone listed on that list can pick up your child if you are not able. If you are unsure, you can confirm by checking with the front office. If we are sending your child home due to illness or injury, we need them to be picked up within 30 minutes by yourself or someone else. Thank you!
The Fall Family Festival is just 2 weeks away! Join us October 20th 5 to 7pm on the Cove School black top for some fun! There will be games, activities, music, and more! And if you come hungry there will be a taco truck & popcorn station with delicious food for purchase. Halloween costumes are highly encouraged (kids and adults)! There will also be a costume exchange - bring your old costumes and exchange for a new one that someone else brings. All costumes left at the end of the event will be donated!
