Spirit Wear Fridays Show off your Cove school spirit by wearing Cove spiritwear or our Cove color (blue!) every Friday
One of my very favorite traditions is our PTO Cove Holiday Store. The Holiday Store returns this Friday, December 9th. Prepare to be delighted by the gifts chosen by your children from the new and gently-used “inventory” donated by the Cove community as we transform the Gallery into a “Holiday Store.”
Students love shopping for important people in their lives at this special annual event. This opportunity instills a spirit of giving in our children. Our awesome volunteers wrap the gifts and the students bring them home to you!
Students bring in $2 and get to shop for 2 gifts when their class comes to the store. This is to ensure inventory and choice for all of the students throughout the day. If your child has 2 households, more than 2 parents or one parent, you might help them brainstorm who to shop for in their 2 gifts so that they have a plan they feel good about. The gifts can be for anyone important to them (grandparents, siblings, one gift for 2 parents together, etc.) They can be creative! They can also return after school to shop for more items if desired.
We need YOUR help to make this happen!
Donate items from now until Thursday December 8th - Bring items to the Gallery! Treasures in high demand include: costume jewelry and women’s accessories, hobby supplies, holiday-themed decor, housewares, cookbooks, DVDs, and anything for men! We cannot take used clothing without tags, dirty or broken items, toys, or stuffed animals.
Volunteer for store set-up on Thursday 12/8 and for shopping assistance and gift wrapping on Friday, December 9th. Please sign up here.
Send $2.00 with your child on Friday, 12/9. (Any proceeds support PTO programs at Cove!)
Students and families may continue to shop the Holiday Store for more gifts after school in the Gallery 3pm to 4pm!
Thank you for your support in making this year's Holiday Store a success.
Sincerely,
Michelle Walker
Notify Office When Absent- Parents, we need your help! Please email coveabsentee@lcmschools.org by 8:30am if your child will be absent. We have to verify every absence. If you get an automated call due to an unverified absence, please call the school office to provide a reason for absence. Otherwise we spend lots of time following up with families. Thank you!
Holiday and Kindness Cards On Tuesday, December 6th from 12:30-1:15pm during lunch recess kids will have the opportunity to make holiday and kindness cards for Aegis Living Corte Madera, Assisted Living Community. The event is hosted by Pago, a public benefit corporation that is creating a kindness marketplace from those with means to those in need. They are creating an online platform that allows individuals to engage in various acts of kindness individually and within our communities.
Lost and Found Walkthrough Visit the Gallery on Monday 12/12 from 8:00am to 3:15pm for a Lost and Found walk through to reclaim your missing items. Any items left in Lost in Found will be donated Friday afternoon at 3:30 on 12/16
Safe Routes Walk & Roll day is Wednesday morning, December 7th! Walking, biking, skating, scooting, carpooling, parking and walking or taking the bus are all excellent ways to participate! Make sure to stop by our welcome table on the blacktop for a fun prize. See you there!
Swag Sale will be this Thursday, December 8 at 7:45am- 8:15am on the blacktop before school. We will have brand new kids & adult sweatshirts, and new VESTS available for purchase!!
From the Library
Calling all December birthdays! If your child has a December birthday, then look out for a Birthday Book Program flyer from the Library in their backpack this week. By making a donation to this much-loved program, your child will get to choose a brand new book with their name written on a bookplate inside, for all to enjoy at the Cove Library.
Buying books this Holiday? Then support local and buy from The Book Passage. Mention Cove School at check out (or in the comments field if ordering online) and the school will receive a portion of the purchase in the form of a bookstore gift certificate. We use these to buy more books for the kids to enjoy in the library!

Visitors Must Wear Badges at All Times
Safety is our top priority. Mitigation strategies such as ID badges, clearly identify who is permitted to be on campus. All visitors on campus during school hours must check in at the main office (with a photo ID) and obtain a badge. The badge must be worn at all times and be clearly visible. If you are on campus without a badge you will be asked to report to the main office to obtain one. This applies to all adults, even if you are a regular volunteer on campus. This is a very important safety measure and will be helpful in the event of an emergency. Here is our badge/check-in policy. Please know this will be strictly enforced beginning on November 28, 2022. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
