Every Friday- Lost & Found Outside at The Loop
PTO hosted a school-wide popsicle party on Friday to celebrate meeting our readathon goal! Thank you again for your PTO Readathon contributions. They are really paying off! We are using Readathon donations to help give more recess options. Coach Arroyo started running recess games on Thursdays and Fridays during lunch recess this week. And, campus improvements are underway. See the picture below of our new gallery mural and notice the fresh wood chips all around campus. Thank you!
Calling volunteers to help display art! Ms. McKee is seeking help to display art for an art show during Open House. We have done this in the past and it is beautiful! We need 1-2 volunteers per grade level to help out. SPARK classroom reps- this might be a great role for you! Here’s the role description: get art from Ms. McKee, photograph each piece (one piece per student), then arrange those pieces of 2D art (along with a provided description of the grade level project) onto a panel of black butcher paper. Assist Ernesto in hanging the panels of art the week of April 3. Finally, on April 6 (Open House), we will need someone to organize the clay pieces (for any class that doesn’t have space for their clay pieces in the classroom) on the tables in the gallery that afternoon. Email Covesecretaries@lcmschools.org to volunteer. Thank you! And, thank you for your SPARK donations that make our art program possible!

Cove's annual Tinker Day is coming up on March 22, 2023
from 8:30am-12:00pm. Held in the gallery and courtyard, it's a tribute to STEAM, with such long-time favorites as the Take-Apart Station, Cardboard Construction Zone, and a variety of projects set up and run by parents as well as the larger Cove Community. This amazing day of STEAM allows our students to Tinker in a creative, constructive way.
Sign up here to run a station or to help our Tinkers at Work.
Please begin collecting cardboard boxes and tape (scotch and electric) for our Construction Station as well as any old electronics (all shapes and sizes!) for the Take-Apart Station. We ask that you bring them into the Gallery the morning of Tinker Day, March 22.
Tinker Day Questions? Email our Tinkerer-in Chief, Cove PTO Tech VP, Dr. Chris Slowe at tech@covepto.org.
