Dear Families,
We have just 2 event-packed weeks left of school! Last week our 5th graders performed in a choir and band concert (pictured above). This week we have Field Day on Friday. The next week we have many class celebrations and our 5th grade culmination…Lots of special events to build some precious memories.
I look forward to seeing many of you on campus over the next couple of weeks. Thank you for your support to help this all run smoothly for our Cove coyotes!
Sincerely,
Michelle Walker, Principal
We honored students at Friday's assembly: Congratulations Reed (principal for the day Readathon minutes winner), Paige and Eloise (this year's Cove Yearbook cover contest winners), Nina and Isla (Celebrate America Writing contest winners), Katelyn and Nina (Spelling Bee winners)
Yearbooks will be handed out in class on Tuesday, June 6th.
The VERY limited number of extra yearbooks will be for sale for $35 (cash or Venmo) after school on Tuesday, June 6th and before school on Wednesday, June 7th, while supplies last. *Please note that we are not able to reserve yearbooks - they will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Also at Friday's assembly: Coach Arroyo recognized 5th graders who earned National Fitness Awards, Presidential Fitness Awards and the fastest mile times for Cove's 5th grade!

Painted Bins Project- Art on Display We invited Cove students to participate in the Painted Bins project. ALL students who entered (it was open to grades 3-5) will have their work displayed at an Art Show in Town Center on May 27, 28, 29 from 12:00 - 5:00pm in The Town Center space between Tad’s Hair Salon and the Rite Aid back door. Painted Bins places children’s art on food waste collection bins to encourage people to properly dispose of food scraps. Winners from this year’s Art Contest will be announced in June and will have their art displayed on the Painted Bins in Town Park for one year starting in April 2024, and it will be featured in the Corte Madera Art Exhibition in December 2023.
SPARK is closing in on our $1.5M goal, and we are incredibly grateful for the support we have received so far, but we still need your help. Thanks to the generosity of a district family offering a $10K dollar-for-dollar match plus contributions and pledge commitments from 20 families, we made significant progress this past week!
We still need $75K to hit our goal of $1.5M before June 30, 2023.
What happens if we don’t hit our goal?
Not hitting our goal means we must reduce our commitment to LCMSD for Art, Music, Science, Technology, and Wellness next year, affecting resources for our students.
What can I do today?
If you have pledged but have yet to donate, please reconfirm your commitment by submitting your payment today or letting us know when to expect it. As a reminder, all pledges are due on or before June 30, 2023. If you haven’t donated to Annual Giving this year, remember that all funds raised this year are spent this year. Please join the 75% of families who have come together to support our students and teachers.
