2026 Variety Show

Thursday December 4th | Variety Show Info Zoom, 7pm (Meeting ID: 489 448 7539, Passcode: coyote)

• REGISTRATION INFO:

• Registration will open at 9:00 am on Monday, December 16th and close 11:59 pm on Friday, January 10th. The form is NOT LIVE before Monday, December 16th.  A recording of the Informational Zoom can be found here after December 3rd.

• Please submit only 1 registration form per Act/Group. 

• Acts must be no longer than 1.5 minutes (90 seconds)

• Sign up for rehearsals before January 17th, 2026 (see below for details)

• REHEARSAL INFO:

• “Auditions”/Preview week at Cove (MANDATORY) 

  • • sign up for ONE before January 17th, 2026.

    • Choose from: Tuesday Feb 10th, 3-4:15PM OR Wednesday Feb 11th, 1:15-2:30 PM

    • Location:  The Cove Music Room

    • Attendance at ONE of these is MANDATORY for all performers

• • • ****Preview days are the first rehearsals where we do a quick run through of the performances to get a taste of all the acts. Acts should be well-rehearsed or even complete at this point****

• Regular Rehearsals (2 mandatory) - choose 2 from:

  • Feb 24th (Tues) 3-4pm in The Cove Music Room 

  • Feb 25th (Wed) 1:15-2:15pm in The Cove Music Room 

  • March 3rd (Tues) 3-4pm in The Cove Music Room 

  • March 4th (Wed) 1:15-2:15pm in The Cove Music Room 

• • ****Performers must attend at least 2 regular rehearsals (not including Preview Week or Tech/Dress Rehearsals)****

• Mandatory Rehearsals - at Neil Cummins Gym:

  • Tech Rehearsal:  Thursday March 12th 3:15-4:45 pm

  • Dress Rehearsal:  Wednesday March 18 1:45-3:15 pm

• • ****Attendance is MANDATORY for both rehearsals. This will be the time to get used to the stage, mics, work out any kinks and be a run-through of the show.****

• 2026 SHOW INFO:

• Showtime is Friday, March 20th at 6pm

  • Location - Neil Cummins Gym 

  • Performers arrive at 5:30pm

  • Doors open at 5:45pm

  • Show starts at 6pm

• VOLUNTEER SIGN-UPS:

• We NEED your help to put on this show! It truly takes a village. We need help in all areas, especially the tech/dress rehearsals and show. Please consider giving your time!

• GUIDELINES AND HELPFUL INFO:

• Performers can only be in ONE act

• Each act must not be longer than 1.5 minutes

• Maximum performers per act: 8

• Singers will be required to sing into a microphone with a backing track or other accompaniment. No lip-syncing will be allowed. Karaoke version of your songs can be found at:

  • Other song distributors 

• Songs need to be edited before submitted. Make sure they are no more than 1.5 min long. The following are just a few audio editors that you can use to edit your song (many have a free trial available).

  • Audacity

  • WavePad

  • Ocenaudio

  • Garageband

• Popular song requests will be approved at our discretion. Songs will be first-come first-serve (according to registration date / submission of songs). We may allow two submissions with the same song, but no more than that. Consider having a back-up song choice if you are planning to register with a popular song.

• Dance acts should be choreographed in advance. Please no free-styling.

• Sorry, no Magic acts, as it doesn't view well from anywhere but the first row!

• No costume changes of any kind on stage.

• No throwing/launching of objects on stage, except as agreed upon by Variety Show organizers ahead of final performance.

• By agreeing to participate in the Variety Show, you agree that the Variety Show organizers have the final say, including but not limited to, what acts, costumes, props, songs, etc., are appropriate for the final performance.  Variety Show organizers, using their best judgment, may cut any act as they deem necessary.  There is no appeal process.  By agreeing to participate in the Variety Show, either by registering on the form, or having your child participate as an act in the show, you agree to follow all the guidelines set forth above and any changes deemed necessary by the Variety Show organizers.  If you registered for an act on behalf of the team, you are in charge of disseminating this information for additional guidelines to your group.
