On Your Mark, Get Set, Read! Today we kick off our Fourth Annual Cove School Readathon. Families will receive a link via 99pledges with their child’s personal fundraising page. Please help your child by reading together, sharing out their fundraising page to family and friends, (social media is a great way to do this!) tracking honestly, and enjoying this time!
This is our PTO’s only fundraiser of the year. Funds raised from this event go directly towards invaluable professional development for teachers, instructional materials, classroom supplies and equipment, to classroom furniture, PE and playground equipment, campus improvements, and much, much, more!
This year our goal is to raise $70,000.
Each child will receive a Cove Readathon 2020 book tote! We will also have multiple chances to win: for minutes read, for most donations raised, for classes by week, for the individual, the class, and the teachers!
Our Readathon strives to include all our readers; there are many ways to win!
This year, we are hosting a 100% paper-free Readathon 2020! Students and parents will track weekly reading minutes using our easy online reading log via your Blupods account. For daily tracking, the reading “worm log” is available for download from the PTO Readathon website but minutes still need to be submitted electronically via Blupods to participate.
Visit our Cove Readathon 2020 website for detailed prize information, key dates, how it works, and more.
Important Dates:
January 16 | Tracking Begins
January 21 | Week 1 Tracking ends
January 28 | Week 2 Tracking ends
February 4 | Week 3 Tracking ends (end of tracking)
The 2020 Readathon is the only PTO fundraising event for this school year so please help us make it a success! Our PTO directly funds:
Instructional Materials
Professional development for teachers
Classroom furniture and equipment
PE and playground equipment
Campus events
Parent education
Campus improvements
The school garden
We thank you for your support of The Cove School. Happy reading and happy fundraising! You may reach us at: readathon@covepto.org
Sincerely,
The Cove Readathon Team 2020

How to reach your child during the school day Teachers are not always able to check their emails/texts during the day, before the school day ends. Also, office staff are not able to leave the office to deliver notes to classrooms. We have systems in place for forgotten lunches and parents stuck in traffic at the end of the day. Kids will be directed to the office for emergency snack or lunch (or call home if needed), or to wait for the occasional late pick-up. If you've arranged for another person to pick up your child from school, this person can let your child know when they pick him/her up. The one exception when the school will make every effort to reach your child during the school day is if there is a change in bus plans. Thank you for your cooperation.
School Registration - 2020-2021 Registration appointments for incoming Kindergarten and transfer students choosing to attend the Larkspur-Corte Madera School District in the 2020-2021 school year are now available! If you have a younger sibling who will be attending in the fall, please make an appointment to register as soon as possible. If you know of anyone with small children living within the LCMSD boundaries, please share this information with them. To make an appointment click here and review all information.
Hall Middle School Tours Hall offers monthly tours for parents of incoming students through April. If you'd like to attend a tour, please visit the Hall website here and complete the Hall Tour Sign-up Form. Tours are for parents only, as students from Neil Cummins and Cove will have an opportunity to visit the school with their classmates in May.
Board Meeting For the January 15 Board Meeting . . . Mr. Saibel, Dr. Brown and Hall teachers will provide an update on standards-based reporting at Hall, Trustees will take action on the School Accountability Report Cards (SARCS), and the Board will review the 2020 budget calendar and audit report. We hope to see you there!
Have you readied up your Readathon? Hit up the library, dust off those shelves, and get your read on! Share out your child’s link on social media with friends and family, let coworkers know, and help them make personal requests. This is our PTO’s only fundraiser and we need to rock it for our school!
