Progress Reporting at Cove
Our goal at Cove is for you to understand how your child is doing and what we (student, parent, teacher) can do to help further their growth.
As a school, we share progress more formally at the following checkpoints:
for different classes. The key criteria for success? That you understand how your child is doing and what the student, you as parents and the teacher can do to help further their growth! Your teacher will communicate to you whether they will be holding conferences or sending home progress reports. Your conference or progress report will include qualitative and quantitative data on your child’s progress toward the most essential standards.
You can find more information about Progress Reporting at Cove in this letter. We value you as partners in your child’s learning and will ask for feedback about our progress reporting in early March. Thank you for your engagement!
Sincerely,
Michelle Walker, Principal
Our school just finished up our first full week of fundraising for The Cove Readathon! Remember, the Readathon is the primary fundraiser for the Cove PTO; raising money that is exclusively for our school! For class standings (there are awesome class incentive prizes!) click here.
We want 100% participation in both minutes read and donations raised. We have awesome prizes for both!
A few FAQs:
Do minutes spent reading during class time count toward minute logs? No. However, reading during recess does count
Does listening to audiobooks count towards my minute logs? New this year-Yes!
Can I have a paper reading log to log my minutes? Yes! You can print one here. Remember, each Tuesday you will receive a Blupods activity asking you to enter weekly minutes read.
For more information about our Cove Readathon, please visit The Cove Readathon! We can do this for our school!

More Books = More Reading! Did you know our public library has an amazing app, like Amazon’s bookstore but free? Scan the barcode on any book, and a couple of days later pick it up on the library’s will-call shelf. It finds the book anywhere in Marin, and they truck it to your preferred library.
You can also see which books are due soon and renew them from your phone, a real lifesaver when you’re busy parenting. And of course you can browse and search.
